Solutions Focused Therapy

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFT) is an evidence-based therapeutic approach that focuses on solutions rather than problems. Developed by Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg, SFBT is future-oriented, goal-directed, and aims to help clients construct solutions to achieve desired behavioral changes.

This short-term, goal-focused therapy incorporates positive psychology principles and practices to facilitate client progress by identifying goals reflective of their best hopes and developing practical solutions collaboratively.

By acting as though every session could be the last, therapists maintain a client-centered approach and aim for quality, connection, and lasting change.

t is used to treat a wide range of mental health conditions, including addiction, anger issues, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, eating disorders, panic attacks, personality disorders, and phobias. It can also help people cope with chronic pain or serious illnesses, divorce or break-ups, grief or loss, insomnia, low self-esteem, relationship problems, and stress management.
